Coinciding with the International Children Day on June 1, Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB Foundation) launched a photography book about the struggles of women in obtaining the welfare of their families and children. In cooperation with the Indonesian Leica Community ( IdL ), Angel of Change: On The Flipside, is documenting women who are the clients of YCAB Foundations microfinance program. These women come from poor families in Jakarta. We believe that image has greater power. People will not bother to read so much text in the book. However, if we tell the story of these melancholy disadvantaged families in Jakarta through pictures, it will look more real. The microfinance program is one of YCAB Foundations extension of the third pillar, HOPE ( Hands -on Operation of Entrepreneurship / Employment ) with the goal of assisting the educational problems of children from poor families. YCAB provides micro-credit programs for mothers who have small businesses, under one condition, that these mothers should keep their children stay in school.
