Sjafrie began his career as a member of the most famous ‘red beret elite forces’ known as Kopassus. He ended his military career in the Department of Defense when he was appointed as the Secretary General of the Department in 2005. As secretary general, Sjafrie initiate a reformation within the department, especially in the procurement of major weapons systems (defense equipment).
